Downtown Augusta GA Restaurants

Downtown Augusta offers a variety of eclectic dining options. While we genuinely think every eatery downtown is great, here are ten dining spots that the locals have dubbed as a must visit.

New Moon Café:  You can’t go wrong with any of the trendy coffee shops downtown, but The New Moon Café is pretty cool!  This upbeat artistic café offers freshly roasted coffee beans, homemade pastries, smoothies, and an awesome breakfast menu. Not a breakfast person? Try a combo special on their lunch menu! Bonus: New Moon Café is pet-friendly; enjoy a specialty coffee on the patio with your favorite furry friend.

Hildebrandts: This cozy deli has a train view! A family-owned, German-inspired delicatessen with a heaping helping of Southern Hospitality. Hildebrandts is known for its freshly cut specialty meats that makes for hearty sandwiches. And don’t forget the classic homemade desserts! Tell Luanne (the baker) we sent you!

Pizza Joint: Who doesn’t love pizza? The Pizza Joint is a local restaurant & bar chain serving brick-oven pizzas, calzones & sandwiches in a casual space. Like the New Moon Café, the Pizza Joint, is also pet-friendly, so come sit on the terrace and enjoy lunch with your precious four-legged date.

Nacho Mamas: Ask  any  local to name a popular downtown spot, I can assure you the majority will say: “Nacho Mamas!” This funky storefront eatery serves flavored packed burritos,  nachos, tacos & festive margaritas. And their Seizure Salad- Wowza!

Farmhaus Burger: Looking for a farm-themed hangout with salvaged décor that serves the juiciest hamburgers, America’s best comfort foods, regional beers & wines?  If nothing else, come for the burger! Solé Augusta is a modern dining space that offers tapas, sushi, delicious entrees, steaks cooked to perfection, craft cocktails, and a wide selection of wine. And it has a really cool patio, perfect for group gatherings.

The Whiskey Bar Kitchen: You don’t have to enjoy smooth brown water to dine here,  but if you are a whiskey lover- you are in for a treat. Locals know where to go to get some of the most coveted spirits and the Whiskey Bar Kitchen is on top of that list.  This fun rustic spot offers burgers, American & Japanese favorites, and over two hundred whiskeys with a full-service bar.
